Watchmen, published by DC comics since 1986, was only a twelve issue comic book, which featured super heroes that had never been seen before in the comic book world. The story line of Watchmen takes place during the Vietnam War, which is being won by the U.S. due to the aid of the Watchmen. And to make things harder on the Watchmen, at the time most other superheroes had retired. Despite all of this, the main task of the Watchmen is to help stop a nuclear war with the Soviet Union, that would wipe out millions.
