Doctor Strange didn’t actually have his own comic book to start out. He shared a comic book with the Human Torch, and then later on Nick Fury, but eventually claimed his own comic book. Dr. Strange was a neurosurgeon, when one day he was in an accident which injured his hands and would never be capable of performing surgery again. Until Dr. Strange heard about a person named the Ancient One who might actually be able to cure his hands. While Dr. Strange was on his way to the Ancient One he performed an unselfish act which prompted the Ancient One to teach him the mystic arts, making him the character he is today.
