What makes rare comic books rare? Normally the cause of rare comic books is due to their only being a few copies of that comic book or if it is the first issue in that specific series. For example, the rarest comic book in the Super Man and Spider Man series is the very first issue. A big reason for rare comic books is a result of it being the very first comic book to ever be published about that series and normally they date back to many years ago. Another factor toward making comic books rare is if the comic book has a guest appearance from a well known super hero. One of the most common causes of people wanting rare comic books is because everybody likes to have something that no one else has; in this case it’s rare comic books. Because rare comic books are very few and scarce, obtaining one means you’re one of maybe ten people in the whole world that are in possession of this rare comic book. Now not everyone wants to spend that kind of money on a rare comic book and just let it sit there; many people like to obtain rare comic books and look at it as an investment to gain money over time. The reason for this is as the years go by these rare comic books become rarer and rarer due to the few remaining copies being lost or damaged, resulting in a loss in value. Now it probably sounds like the only reason people want to purchase rare comic books is for the money or the fame, but that is not always the case. There are people out there who just enjoy collecting and reading old, classic, original comic book stories, because it reminds them of their child hood and brings back fond memories.
