If you are looking for discounted comic books then the internet is your best friend. There are thousands of sites there that can give you access to nearly every comic book that has ever been written and published.

The site I like the best when searching to purchase a comic book is comic book cravings. This place has the organization that makes finding what I want and need very easy.

The two most popular comic publishers of all times are DC Comics and Marvel Comics. By placing them all together and subcategorized it is really easy to find just what you want. For those that would rather search by period there is also the Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze Age comics to roam thru to find the one you want.

Other publishers that have their own spaces include Golden Key comics, Mirage Studios, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, and Harvey Comics. This is also the place to find the ever popular Archie Comics.

At the time of this article there was a lot of 8 Archie Comics being sold for only $0.99 that was dated from 1971. There was also a Veronica #202 first print comic book 1^st Kelvin for less than $10.

The number and condition is varied since the sources of the comics are independent. The better ones come in protective coverings. There are even some that mothers are placing on here in bulk just to get rid of them.

Each time I visit the selection is different but it never leaves me wanting. I even enjoy just roaming sometimes to see what is out there on the market. One thing I can count on in each visit is there are plenty of discounted comic books for sale.

The art of restoring old comic books is a controversial one. Many think that by restoring their old comic books, they will not only have a better piece of literary art but its value will also increase. This is false on both accounts.

There are many different techniques in the art of restoring old comic books. The most common, and viewed as unethical, is the application of a silicone or clear spray to the pages. This allows the pages to look glossy and make the comic book appear to be in better shape than it actually is. If you are considering this, stop. It will reduce the value of your comic book.

One of the most common defects in an old comic book is a tear on one or more of its pages. To repair this type of damage, the use of rice paper and paste is utilized. The paste has a consistency of being very fine. Much finer than what is used for wall paper. There is also rice paper that has a heat adhesive. When the heat is applied, it will adhere to the old comic book in the desired area.

These repairs can be noticed if you know what you are looking for. The rice paper, along with the paste, will leave a dull appearance that is different than an original comic book page. By adjusting the angle at which you look at the page, you will be able to notice a difference in the repaired area. Unfortunately, unless you know where the repair is made, looking at every page is very time consuming.

The most common repair for tears is around the staples. If new shiny staples are in the copy of the comic you are looking at, look for a repair also. These are some of the things done when restoring old comic books. Information is power and can save you money.

Properly caring for old comic books is a task not everyone does correctly. This is more than keeping them in a plastic cover. There are many things around your home that can hurt or damage your collection that you have never thought about.

One of the most common contaminates on older comic books is the residue left over from cigarette and cigar smoke. There are over 100 different chemicals present in smoke that causes the pages to not only yellow prematurely, but to become brittle. Keeping your comic books in an air tight bag that is sealed will help to prevent any further damage, but remember when looking at them not to smoke or let anyone in the room smoke.

Another common mistake is to handle the pages with your fingers. The biggest enemy of old paper is acid. There is acid that is naturally being emitted from the pores of the human hand. This can smug the ink and cause the paper to becoming prematurely brittle and yellow before its time. The cost of a pair of white gloves is small compared to the damage you are inflicting on your collection.

The stacking of your collection with weights on top serves a duel purpose. First and for most, the pressure helps to keep any moisture from penetrating into the pages of your comic books. Second the constant pressure on the paper will help to keep it stiff and crisps like it was when it was first purchased.

Light is another factor that causes damage to an old comic book. This includes both sunlight and fluorescent lighting. It is best to keep your collection in an enclosement like a box or trunk so little to no light will reach them.

This stamp was reportedly auctioned off for 2.8 million Swiss Francs, which works out to 2.3 million US dollars. Who knew a tiny stamp could hold such a large value?

4. Coins. Coins remain one of the most sought after collectibles in the world. Many people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on coins that were originally worth less than a dollar. The most valuable coin in the world is the 1933 Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle. This coin had a face value of $20 but was purchased at an auction in July of 2002 for an unbelievable $7.6 million dollars.

It's obvious. Comic book buyers, sellers and collectors have caught Iron Man fever.

All of this has been launched by the tremendous buzz that has been generated by the Iron Man movie. It has received 3 star and 4 star reviews even from the harshest critics. And this buzz and publicity has driven demand for all Iron Man back issue comic books - especially the Silver age Iron Man comics - through the roof.

In particular, Iron Man comics from between 1956 and 1969 are smoking hot on eBay. The Tales of Suspense issues as well as the Iron Man comics have seen a resurgence. A high number of bids have been placed and some record prices have been gotten.

The fact that the movie showcases outstanding acting talent, special effects, and lots of action is a key factor in the price rise and demand also. It's a great movie!

Comic book buyers seem to be most attracted to Iron Man #1 from 1968 and issues #1 through #6 of the Volume 4 comics by Warren Ellis. Because of the movie's success, these comics are poised to take off in value.

However, this is the time to be cautious. Hype or buying frenzy just about always occur when comic super hero movies come out. To tell a poor joke: "I've seen this movie before." The illusory superhero Iron Man in Comicbooks, normally published by Marvel Comics and in the live action feature film, Iron Man was born Tony Stark. Playboy mastermind Tony Stark has the brains to make hi-tech weapons and the good lucks and charm to "woo" women off their feet.

His approach alters when he is arrested, forced to make a destructive weapon, and almost killed by one of his own weapons in a test. Kept lively by an electromagnetic chest shield that stops the shrapnel from penetrating his heart, Tony invents a method to stop his skill from falling into the wrong person (terrorist) hands.

He commences to produce a potent costume of armor to defend his life and ultimately uses it to get retribution on his former captors and encounter forces of evil. After that, he makes a decision to utilize his suit to defend the world as Iron Man.

Through his worldwide corporation, Stark Industries, Tony produced military arms and his own metal costume is laden with technical devices that facilitate him to fight sin. Stark is an outstanding scientist, by day and Iron Man, with exceptional power, by night.

The armor suit of Iron Man consists of the following features

The motorized exoskeleton known as the Iron Man outfit went through a number of alterations prior to building with a combination of gold and titanium. The outfit lets Stark fly and defends him from assaults.

The costume is power-driven by a mini curved reactor. The ultimate version of the costume consists of anti-tank missiles routing and retro propel jets in the palms, a Unibeam part in the chest that fires strong detonations, tiny anti-personnel arms in the shoulders, and blaze launchers on the legs.
